Q: Are there any other guidelines to playing other than
in the rules on the site?
A: In the rules you can learn everything there is to know
about the game, or at least I think so. However, and
knowing that there are always unanswered things, I am
available for any question you may have.
Q: Are there any suggestions or strategies to be utilised
when selecting a type of play?
A: When selecting a type of play you should know what the
effects of that style are.
For example, if your avg. passing ability is lower than the
opponent's, then you should use a style that enhances that
ability. The side effect is that it will also lower another
ability, so make sure you're not covering one hole by
making another.
Basically, by studying the opponent and comparing him to your
team, you can find out which is the best style. Of course
you're assuming that the other player won't change his tactics.
Q: What about the simulation? How does it work? How do the
players match up in the simulation?
A: The simulation is pretty straightfoward. It uses 9 field
areas that match the playing positions and all it does is
compare two players at a time and decide what to do next
based on that comparison.
The value the simulator uses is an average of the player
abilities (30%), the player speed (20%) and the main ability
for that position (50%).
For example, when comparing the home defender with the away
attacker, the simulator will use TK as the main ability for
the defender and SH for the attacker.
Q: Does the player with higher points always win or is it
simply random ?
A: None of the above. When comparing two players a statistical
formula is used, which means that if player A has a
comparison value of 80 and player B has a value of 40, and
if they faced each other 120 times (80 + 40), player A would
win 80 times and player B 40 times.
Of course, in one game, player A can beat player B everytime
but that doesn't mean that he will always win. And it's also
not random because their abilities are taken into account when
deciding who wins.
Q: How are things like injuries decided ?
A: Injuries are decided randomly, pure and simple.
Every team has a certain probability of having one player injured,
and that value is equal to all teams.
Who gets injured is another story, it's not random. A player with
lower FI is more likely to get injured, so once again we are
working with probabilities.
Q: Is there any way by which the speed of the player improves?
A: No, speed never increases. It only decreases as the player gets older.
Q: Does the player's foot preference play any part in the simulation ?
A: Yes it does. When a player plays his side, he has a small bonus
added to his abilities.
Foot=L should play left, foot=R should play right and foot=B should
play center.
