Frog Changes
Sadly, the Frogs this week released long serving veterans Daniel Smith and Lorenzo Antunes. It was clearly a hard decision for the manager to make.
“I’ve grown fond of these two players but ultimately I’ve had to plan for the long term future of the Frogs” said manager Stuart Atkins. “Daniel has known for ages that his dropping pace was a big problem and I think he knew this day was coming. Lorenzo has been fantastic but we couldn’t afford to contract him next year and he was only interested in another year at most anyway. We wish both players all the best for their future”.
As for the new boys, in come midfielder Nicholas Legstrom and goalkeeper Marco Di Bello. “Marco is an excellent young keeper and after training might be even better than our already outstanding Dave Lewis, but then again, competition for places is a good thing”. “Nicholas is a superb prospect, great pace, young. Needs work on his passing skills but that's why we have brought him in”.
As for the season, the Frogs second half has been a bit up and down, some good wins and a bad run at one point of three straight losses. Mike Tucker has been outstanding up front but the Frogs midfield has disappointed. We don’t expect a big cup run as the team looks to settle and build for next year. Keep an eye out for the new Frog youngsters.

New Devils Manager!
Today the Manchester Devils announced their new manager Arron Parker to
club officals, players and supporters.
This appointment brings a much needed end to the clubs search for a
manager. As one club offical is quoted as saying "Its been a bad year for us
this season what with a re-naming along with a new management team earlier
on, that was quickly followed by the club becoming managerless. We here are
hopeful of a long and healthy relationship with the new man."
Many will no doubt have their worries that this new manager with little
experiance can help save the club in its current crisis. However, time will
surely see.

Surprise Win
A great first half and a fantastic performance from midfielder Archie Roberts
has helped the Supertrout to a wonderful 2-1 away win at the Pirates. The
Pirates are a very good outfit and the victory is an important one for the
Supertrout as it gives us an opportunity to climb into the top half of the
ladder. Hopefully we can continue and get on a roll, we have been inconsistent
and we need to string a few wins together.

Gilbert & Kaye Double-Act Downs Frogs
The Frogs slumped to another defeat, this time after having been 3-1 ahead. The prolific Billy gilbert put Jerjak
ahead after 8 minutes with a freekick, Gerardo Croxton equalising for the Frogs just 10 minutes later, also from
a freekick. Mike Tucker, from a corner, and Croxton again, put the Frogs up 3-1 with just minutes left till half
time, however, that was long enough for Kaye to pull Jerjak back into it at 3-2.
Ten minutes of the second half was all Kaye needed to level the scores at 3-3, soon after, Gilbert restored Jerjak
into the lead. The Frogs habit of letting in late goals cropped up again as Kaye completed a hat-trick in the 91st
minute to kill the game off.
Another poor showing from the Frogs who's early season promise has disappeared and who must now concentrate on staying up.

Hardstylers still in the race
We're still in the race for the title after two solid victories over the Penang Islanders and Jerjak.
The next match against current leaders Pontian will be a big test case. If we can win this match, we
have a good chanche on the title. We're playing at our own ground, so the crowd will hopefully have an
impact on the match! In the first leg we were very lucky to equalize in the last minute, but this time
the players are in better shape! The league is still very exciting, with the top 5 only seperated by 4
points.
Cheers, Pieter

Battling Frogs get un-Dunn
A brave performance by the Frogs almost saw them snatch points away from title-challenging Islanders only to be
beaten by a last gasp goal from the prolific Ken Dunn.
The Frogs took the field with a defensive 5-4-1 formation looking to hit on the break, a tactic that worked superbly
till half-time as the Frogs took the lead when the superb Jake Fargas bagged two goals half-way through the first half.
Ten minutes into the second half and the Islanders were back in it, Dunn giving the Frogs reserve keeper no chance.
Rene Lariomov equalised with quarter of an hour left before the Islanders stole the poitns with an undeserved 91st
minute winner, a deflected free kick from Dunn.
This was a good performance from the low-table Frogs, both tactically and on the pitch only to be denied late.
The Islanders stay in touch with the leading pack in the table.

Gochoh's Report
What a familiar faces to complete the first round of
the NSL 2nd season. Not much can be said between the
top few teams. They are all very close to each other
in points. And something that is worth mentioning is that
the top 4 teams are managed by managers from Penang
Malaysia. And out of top 7, only Pieter Groen from
Holland sneak in at 5th. What a coincidence.
Gochoh managed to maintain in 4th spot, 2 points
behind league leaders Gambier. It's not bad at all for
the team that finish 8th in the league last season.
Gochoh lost 3 matches, against early pace-setter,
Bolton Trotters on the first game of the season. Even
though Bolton hold on to the top spot for a few weeks,
they have lost their momentum now and stayed in 11th
position, just a few points above relegation. The
second loss came against Gambier at home in a close
match, 2-3. The other loss comes against unpredictable
team, Manchester Devils 1-3. The Devils can beat anyone
on their day but they have been inconsistent and lying
in 13th spot.
Gochoh's main scorers have been their 3 strikers, Pete
McDonald and Sergey Sturridge with 14 goals each while
Alex Bell added 10. The other scorers scored 1 each,
Bentley, Peeters, Wellington, Roque and Manelito.
good luck for all team in the second round!!!!

Horrible mistake by Hardstylers
What a horrible match against Supertrout. All credit to their great comeback, they kept believing in a miracle, even when they were 4-0 down! However, everybody at the Hardstylers is furious with the manager. Due to a stupid mistake we only played with 10 players, and even worse: without a goalkeeper! It didn't seem to matter, because the strikers played very well. But in the second half Supertrout kept shooting on goal, and it resulted in one of the greatest comebacks I've ever seen in the NSL.
After 15 matches we are at a disappointing 5th place. We're still very close to the number 1 spot, but we cannot afford any more mistakes. We need to win from the Penang Islanders in the next match. The players have improved alot since our loss in the first leg against them, so it could be a thriller! The manager really wants to win this one, otherwise his job could be in danger ;)

Tucker-tastic
Another superb display by Mike Tucker took the Frogs to three points against Skamander.
After six minutes, Gerardo Croxton put the Frogs ahead with a stunning drive. However Tucker
then stepped up to show his class and scored twice before half time to almost seal the points.
Almost immediately after half time tucker had his hat-trick, this time converting a penalty.
Hartnell gave Skamander hope after 55 when his clever shot brought the score back to 4-1.
However, within quarter of an hour, Tucker had his fourth, and twentieth of the season, as he
headed powerfully home from a Walters corner.
Michael Ribiero scored tow late goals as consolation for Skamander as the Frogs defence made some
sloppy mistakes. Overall though, easy win for the Frogs and an oustanding display from the young hitman, Tucker.
The weekend is likely to see the Frogs brought back down to earth with a bang as they travel to play
the excellent Hardstylers. Only a mad pundit would predict the Frogs even getting a point from this one

All Gone Wrong For Gochoh
It's all gone wrong for Gochoh during the match
against Manchester Devils. Even though Gochoh lead
after 38th minute through Alex Bell, Gochoh is never
in the game. They were totally outplayed by an
energetic Devils.
And not sure whether it is goalkeeping error or not
but surely it left everyone pondering whether
goalkeeper, Ronnie Bartlett can keep his place in the
teams. Both Bartlett and Bosco Coggins played 6 each
for Gochoh and the record for Bartlett is definitely
not good with 1 win, 2 draws, 3 lost, 14 goals scored
against 17. While with Coggins in, Gochoh won 5 games
and drew 1, with 21 goals scored against 10.
It would be a tough game next for Gochoh when they
entertain the surprised leader, Hardstylers this
weekend. Hardstylers has the best attacking team and
defensive team in the league with 48 goals scored
averaging 4 goals a game and conceded only 19 goals.

Valentino denies Frogs
A strong start to the season from Gambier saw the Frogs take on Gambier knowing that at best they were hoping
to come away with a draw. It looked even bleaker after just eight minutes when Bowman headed Gambier in front
from a corner. The frist half lacked entertainment although a stunning ssave from Lewis to keep the Gambier
lead to 1-0 and a superb display by Billy Carvalho in the Gambier midfield stood out.
The second half continued much as the first as the Frgos midfield battled to gain some possession. However,
it was another incredible save from Lewis that kept the Frogs in the game. With just four minutes of normal
time left the Frogs looked to have stolen a draw when the prolific Mike Tucker nutmegged Hanlen to level the
scores. However, justice was done when a last minute penalty was awarded to Gambier and Toni Valentino shot
home from the spot to take the points for Gambier.
Fair result, Gambier played better and only another fine display from the outstanding Dave Lewis kept the
scores as close as they were.

Dominant Devils
That was a great performance from us; the game was well balanced up to the first goal and we were one nil
down, but the devils showed what we are made of and quickly got back in to the game 4 minutes later with
an equaliser from almeida.
After that, we never looked back and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and dominated the play from
then onwards, taking the lead on 48 minutes and pressing all the time for more, finaly being rewarded in the
91st minute.
Next we travel to Penang Pirates. This will be a tough game for us but hopefully we can get something from the
game.

Dutch Derby Delight
The dutch derby against Skamander wasn't what their fans had hoped for.
We played very strong and they never really got into the match.
It seems that we didn't miss our injured top scorer Dave Martins in the last few matches.
The other strikers took over his place very well. However, he has recovered from his injury
and will be back in the lineup against Gochoh.
With the win over Skamander we took over the first place from Penang Islanders! Who would have
thought that after the struggling start of this season? It will be very hard to hold on to this
place which such a competitive league. Our first big test will be the next match against high ranked Gochoh.
If we want to be on top of the rankings after the first round, it's necessary to win this match.
Cheers Pieter

Gochoh Is Back!
Gochoh is back into winning ways after losing to
Gambier 2-3 two weeks ago. However, the tasks were
expected to be easy against bottom team Fearless
Dragons in which Gochoh easily beat them 3-0 on
saturday and against another low-rank team Skamander
on wednesday with merely 1-0 thanks to an early goal
from Pete McDonald. This saturday, Gochoh is expected
to win another match against low-rank team, Manchester
Devils before waiting for high-riding team,
Hardstylers the next saturday.

Frogs overcome Destina
A superb all round display from the Frogs saw them break their drawing habit and beat Real Destina 3-1. Frogs took an early lead when Gerardo Croxton struck after just 8 minutes as he nutmegged Kent in the Destina goal. Dave Smagin hit back for Destina on the 20 minute mark as he hit an unstoppable shot past Lewis.
Only four minutes later and the Frogs were ahead again, the outstanding Mike Tucker scoring yet again. Strangely, after an entertaining first 25 minutes, the rest of the first half quietened down, neither goalie called into action.
The Frogs came out the more dominant in the second half, a fine display from Terry Faulkes running the midfield. Timmy Kent kept Destina’s chances alive as he made an impossible save from Croxton. However, Kent was beaten from the penalty spot by Tucker in the 66th minute as the Frogs sealed the win.
Very solid performance by the Frogs although they face a very hard test at the weekend as they face a difficult away trip to play Gambier.

Deliquent Devils
What an abysmal performance by us slaughtered at home again well at least we are consistant as it happens away from home also.
There is a big question mark over the defence we were 3-0 after 18 minutes, by 36 mins it was 4-0 only one defender won any tackles i'am lost for words,at the other end we only had three shots on target and only one by a striker,it would seem there is alot of work for me to do and will take some time to complete.
Well done dragons on your well deserved win.

3 Goal Adamson Leads Supertrout to Win
3 Goals from Alexandr Adamson have helped Supertrout record our 4th Win of the
season. After losing all but one of our first seven matches, Supertrout look like
they may have hit some form. The turn-around brought about by the purchase a
couple of new young guns. Defensively we were very very poor and it seems that we
may have turned that around. We are now looking for some consistency and are
hoping that we can overcome Real Destina to continue our climb up the ladder.
Our loss to the Angels the previous week seems less of a surprise considering
the Angels recently knocked over first places Penang Islanders. We are hoping for another
positive result and urge our supporters to stick with us.

Frogs Suffering Draw-back
After a great start to the season, the Frogs have hit a slump that has seen them draw four of their last five games. Quite how a team can do this after an early season win over the Islanders defies belief. Free scoring at times, three lively forwards to choose from, the Frogs can not control games and must step up a gear in the second half of the season.
Against Kuala Lumpur, yet another draw. Two equal teams played out most of the match in midfield although both goalies were called on for a number of saves. William Percival gave KL the lead after 19 minutes with a long range strike, the lead only brief as just five minutes later Jake Fargas rolled the ball home to equalise for the Frogs. Other than that, a late save from each keeper kept the scores tied.
More disappointment for a Frogs team that has failed to live up to their early season promise."

Barreto proves he has the goods!
There were some questionmarks after the injury of top scorer Dave Martins. Would the substitute Vladimir Barreto be able to score goals? He answered the question with his feet and scored 3 goals against Real Destina! It was a one sided match, in which the players showed what they are capable of.
It's a great moral booster for the match against Gambier. They also have 20 points, so it will be a real cracker! The winner can keep up with the Penang Islanders, while the loser will have to take a few steps back..
There were some remarkable results this league round, which shows how close the teams are. The strenght of the league is improving very fast, and we're hoping to keep up..
Have a nice week, cheers Pieter

Is the Tide Turning?
Well, after five straight defeats at the beginning of the season, the Devils have managed to scrape a few points together. Two new signings are a welcome and much needed addition to the squad and this should help improve results but there is a long way to go before we can challenge for the title.
I am pleased to see us string two consecutive wins together; the game against Jerjak was a tight and thrilling match and the game against Pontian was not so tight but i think the score flatters us a little.

Hardstylers move into top 4!
What a thrilling match against Kuala Lumpur! After recent matches, everybody expected a victory. However, Kuala Lumpur proved to be a better opponent than we thought. They even went 3-1 up, but then the players woke up and played very well! It resulted in a good comeback and the full 3 points!
At the end of the match there was an injury blow for Dave Martins! He already scored 15 goals, and we'll definitely miss him in the coming matches. The depth of the squad is pretty good so it should be possible to replace him!
We've moved into the top 4 after this match. The next one is against Real Destina, we'll be looking for 3 points again and hopefully we can enter the top 3!

Angels need signings
Well 2-2 against Dangerous Frogs is a good result which i'm pleased
with, only downside from it is that we still somehow dropped down a
place to 15th! At least we're 6 points clear of bottom team Fearless
Dragons. On a side note both us and Skamander seem to be trying for
most draws in a season (which stands at 8) with them on 5 and us on 4
after less than a 3rd of the season gone. A few signings are needed
still either from the youth sides or in the next transfer window, but
its good the side are moving forward. If we sort it soon enough maybe
even a top half finish might be possible. Just aim high :-D
Cheers - Dave

Pirates Sink Frogs
A stunning shot by Torsten Brock gave the Pirates the lead after 28 minutes only for the Frogs to hit straight back through Jake Fargas. 1-1 at half time although Frogs' Dave Lewis was by far the busier of the two keepers.
A 54th minute penalty gave the Pirates the lead as Brock slotted home from the spot. Just seven minutes later, Bremford all but sealed the win when he blasted home an amazing shot from distance. The Frogs struggled to get back on terms as good defensive play by the Pirates kept the ball away from the dangerous Frogs strikers. A last minute tap-in for Brock finished the scoring as he claimed a fine hat-trick.
Disappointment for the Frogs who move on to another tough game midweek away against the impressive Bolton Trotters.

Angels - "Time For A Change"
What can you say about a nil-nil draw, especailly one where your
forward hardly see the ball? This sort of form 4th from bottom will
be the highest we get to this season. Time for a change of formation
methinks! Next week's game against The Hardstylers will be tougher and
unless we can work out a better system, will probably mean a loss.
Still its all a learning experience for the team and as long as they
grow from it, I won't have a problem. If we do have a problem it will
corrected by bringing new players in!

Hardstylers Eye Title Win
After a disappointing start of the season, we have recovered very well. We haven't lost for 5 games in a row, and especially Dave Martins is hot at the moment. He has scored 10 goals in only 6 matches!
With the new youth signing we should be able to play for the title this season. We're only 5 points behind the Islanders, so everything is still possible. The next match is against Kuala Lumpur and based on the rankings we're the favorite. Hopefully that will also be the case on the pitch!

Great for Gochoh!
It has been great so far for Gochoh FC after going
unbeaten for 5 straight matches since losing to league
leader, Bolton Trotters on the first of the season.
Although Gochoh has scored 22 goals in 6 matches, 19
of them are from 3 strikers, P.McDonald, Bell and
Sturridge while another 3 scored each by 3 defenders.
It's a growing concern with midfielders are currently
firing blank. However, it is believed that this
situation would change soon once the midfielders get
the rhythm. All but one, Bento are 21 or less while
Bento himself is just 24.

Angels Parade Youths
Oakland Park Angels were pleased to announce the signing of Peng Sai
Mok and Muta Ndobna, promoted from the Youth League this week. Sai
Mok is a talented central midfielder, and Ndobna is a speedy left
back. Enrique Roberts and Noel Antunes left the club also. The first
part of the rebuilding plans are in place, and in a few weeks we
should see these two youngsters vying for a place in the first XI.
With a youthful edge to the team appearing the future looks bright,
but hopefully the benefits will pick up soon for this season too.

Angels target youths
After spending the week watching the youth teams in action, a short
list has been drawn up of targets for the youth promotion window.
Hopefully a couple of them will help strengthen my side long term, as
whilst slowly getting better, we have a long way to go.
4th from bottom isn't the best place to be but as long as we keep
getting better and improving I can handle it. Well at least for the
moment!
As for this week's game, well it showed the catching up we have to do
with the top teams. I'm glad we kept fighting and pulled one back
though. Every Storm cloud has a silver lining and the fight of these
players is that :-)

Almeida Grabs Point for Devils
Pavel Almeida stepped up with a last-kick of the game strike to earn the Devils a first point of the season, stealing the three points away from an understrength Frogs who looked to have just done enough to win before Almeida stepped up.
The Devils had all the early action, Frogs reserve keeper Dan Smith, in for the injured Lewis, making several good early saves. The Devils then deserved their lead as a solo piece of brilliance from Almeida gave them the lead just before half time.
Not to be outdone, on form Frogs striker Gerardo Croxton levelled the scores ten minutes into the second half with another goal, his ninth of the season. Finally the Frogs started piling forward, testing Martins in the Devils goal. Then, six minutes left, Croxton scored again, stabbing home an effort that looked likely to win it for the home team. However, Almeida made the most of the two minutes of extra time to grab a point for his team.

Tucker slays Dragons
Mike Tucker only signed on for the Frogs at the beginning of the season but already the young star has become a legend on the terraces. Tuckers' ten goals in five games has given the Frogs a great start to the season.
The Fearless Dragons contributed to their own destruction by only turning up with ten men, a decision that must be a mystery to the press. The dynamic Frogs duo of Tucker and Croxton then dissected the Dragons with a clinical striking display. Four goals ahead within the hour, a Tucker hat-trick and a single strike for Croxton. Walters pulled one back for the Dragons but it was one way traffic again afterwards as Croxton drove home a penalty, and then Tucker added two more, the last another penalty.
A convincing Frogs win, two star performances up front, but we have to ask the Dragons, why the ten men ???

Excellent, our first win. Its been coming a while now and hopefully

Hardstylers eye improvement
After a very disappointing first season, the fans and players of the Hardstylers were full of confidence after the friendlies at the start of this season. However, we did not win any of our first three matches and the championship already looks far away!
Our goal of this season is to win the title and reach the final of the cup. It's a very hard target, especially after the struggling start. I think we can still do it, but the players will have to improve their game quickly!

Potter Magic beats Frogs
A tight game between Pontian and the Frogs was decided by an 80th minute free kick from Malcolm Potter to steal the points with a 2-1 win for Pontian.
Both sides started well, the action mainly taking place in the middle as both midfields struggled to control the game. Filip Price had the first real chance after 26 minutes and took it superbly to put Pontian ahead. The lead didn't last till half-time as young Jake Fargas slotted home just before the half to level it for the Frogs.
Dave Lewis did his best to keep the Frogs in the game with a stunning save early in the second half. However Pontian started to dominate more but it looked like the Frogs could hold out before, after 80 minutes, Potter's deflected free kick beat the stranded Lewis to put Pontian in the lead. The Frogs came back but only managed one test of Atkins in the Pontian goal.
The Frogs slip to a second defeat in a row and will be eager to get back on a winning run.

Angels Searching for The Key
Well 3 games have gone and only 1 point but not too worry is the
message from the Angels camp. "We are still finding our best
formation, and selection of players. And the forthcoming Transfer and
Youth Promotion Windows will allow us to strengthen the side even
further. Remember I am building for the future, and these things take
time. The players have to do their part too as there are a few that
need contract renewals soon, its up to them to earn it" Mr Jeffery said
at the press conference after the game. How they fair against Kuala
Lumpur next week will be interesting.

Gilbert Nutmegs the Frogs
Billy Gilbert scored a sensational hat-trick in the first half hour of the game to ruin the Frogs good start to the season. Three times the Jerjak youngster slotted chances through the legs of the usually outstanding Dave Lewis in goal for the Frogs.
The Frogs only hope came very late when Mike Tucker scored from a corner with just over ten minutes left but it was far too little too late as the Frogs short unbeaten run came to an end.
There was no denying who was man of the match after the outstanding display from Gilbert who became the leagues top goal scorer with this dispaly.
Frogs must look to bounce back next weekend but must overcome a tricky home game against Pontian.

Even the Frogs were shocked
The last thing I expected was a win” said Frogs manager Stuart Atkins, “When playing the Islanders I was hoping for a draw at best”.
The Frogs produced an early shock, even for their manager, with a 3-2 defeat of reigning champions the Penang Islanders.
Mike Tucker scored his third of the season in the 12th minute to put the Frogs ahead as he coolly rounded Baker to slot home.
Penang came back just minutes later as the impressive Lariomov equalised from a free kick.
The game remained even, The Frogs happy while the match was drawn. However Lariomov stepped up again and put the champs ahead early in the second half in the second half as he finished off a breakaway.
Dave Lewis then made two vital saves for the Frogs, keeping the Penang lead to just one goal.
Last match’s Frog hero, Gerardo Croxton then made his mark with a sixth goal of the season.
Quarter of an hour left and the Frogs seemingly happy with a draw.
However, good late work form the Frogs won a late corner and Mike Tucker outleapt the defence to head home an unexpected winner.
This certainly was a surprise, not least to the Frogs. Next week they may be without Gunther Lowes who picked up a slight injury.

Magnificent Frog Seven
The Frogs celebrated the start of the much anticipated new season with a dazzling demolition of Electric Supertrout. Early season transfer activity saw one debut, that of youngster Mike Tucker up front.
Early Frogs pressure caused the first goal, not at the right end though as Lemaire took advantage of a defensive lapse and broke away to put the Trouts ahead. This stung the Frogs into an immediate reply and just minutes later Gerardo Croxton slammed home an equaliser from the penalty spot.
A frantic first half then saw goals at both ends as firstly Croxton put the Frogs ahead, then back came the Trouts when Andreev's free kick was deflected past Lewis. The Frogs didn't settle for level scores and stepped up a gear in the fifteen minutes before half time. Croxton scored twice, first for his hat-trick with a deflected free kick then with a dazzling piece of solo brilliance just before the half.
New boy Tucker then took over the show and within ten minutes of the restart had sealed the game as he scored twice to put the Frogs 6-2 ahead. A header from a corner giving the recent signing his first before he doubled his tally with a superb feint. The game quietened down briefly before Croxton capped an amazing display with a stunning eightieth minute drive. Gunter Lemaire managed an injury time consolation for the Electrics.
Superb performance from the Frogs, led by a dazzling display from five-goal Gerardo Croxton. However the Frogs face a tricky midweek game against last seasons champs, the Penang Islanders.

Oakland Park Angels debut....
After the surprise withdrawal of Ewans Cougars, their place in the
league was taken by Oakland Park Angels. "We will build a team that
will take this club to the very top of the leagues, it may take a few
years but it will be exciting times I promise you!" Angels manager
David Jeffery was quoted at the news conference. Mr Jeffery has a
reputation for building with youth, and some unusual tactics and
plans, keeps even Oakland's own fans guessing! Also likes to be
refered to as DJ! Already he has changed a lot of the squad around,
and how they gel over the next few weeks will be interesting to see.
"If you expect instant results then close your eyes, it may happen but
its not as important as the future. I do promise that will be very
bright though" was the ending speech from DJ and to a round of
applause from fans outside the ground listening over the tannoy.
